Our Year 5 and 6 children were incredibly fortunate this week as they enjoyed a free trip to Newcastle Theatre Royal to watch Weird — a brand‑new musical inspired by the story of Macbeth. What an experience it was!
From the moment we stepped inside the theatre, the excitement was electric. The show was packed with creativity, energy, and clever storytelling, bringing Shakespeare’s classic tale to life in a fresh and modern way. Our children were completely captivated!
A Morning Filled With Magic
The performance gave our pupils the chance to:
- Experience live theatre in one of the North East’s most iconic venues
- Explore Macbeth’s themes in a fun, imaginative format
- Engage with performing arts beyond the classroom
Not only did the children enjoy the show, but they also represented our academy beautifully. Their behaviour, enthusiasm, and curiosity made us incredibly proud.
We’ve had a fantastic morning at the theatre, and we’re already looking forward to our next cultural adventure!
