A Whole‑School Act of Faith and Compassion

Today, the entire community of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Academy in Billingham came together to take part in The Big Lent Walk, supporting CAFOD, the official aid agency of the Catholic Church. It was a powerful example of our pupils living out the values of compassion, generosity and global responsibility.

Stepping Out for a Worthy Cause

Pupils and staff walked around the school field three times, proudly carrying the wonderful posters created by the children. These posters shared messages of hope, justice and kindness, perfectly capturing the purpose of the day. There were smiles all around and a real sense of togetherness as everyone encouraged one another along the way.

Learning About Global Justice

As part of the walk, children reflected on the important work CAFOD carries out in over 40 countries worldwide, helping to tackle poverty and injustice. The event helped pupils understand how small actions taken together can have a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Making a Difference This Lent

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our pupils and staff. We are hopeful that the funds raised will support CAFOD’s life‑changing work and make a real difference to communities in need around the world.
