At Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, we are passionate about teaching our pupils the importance of caring for the environment. Recently, we welcomed a representative from Stockton Borough Council for an engaging session on recycling and sustainability.
During the workshop, pupils learned how to sort household waste into the correct recycling bins and discovered how small changes can make a big difference to our planet. The hands-on activity was both fun and educational, sparking great conversations about reducing waste and protecting the environment.
Inspired by what they learned, our eco-conscious pupils launched a brilliant initiative: a Christmas Jumper Swap Shop! Instead of buying new jumpers, children brought in their old festive sweaters to swap with friends. This creative idea not only saved money but also helped reduce waste—a perfect example of sustainability in action.
We are so proud of our pupils for taking the lead on this eco-friendly project. Their enthusiasm shows that even small steps can have a big impact on our world.
